How should we customize the Resources category?

+3
−0

I have created the Resources category, as requested. There are a couple customizations available that I have left blank for now:

  • The short description at the top of the list.
  • (Override of) help that is shown when someone starts to create a post. This should give guidance on how to write a resource article, specifically.

What should these be filled with?

Proposed tagline

Community resources about language and languages

Proposed help text

Posting Tips:

  • Break different topics up into paragraphs. Multiple paragraphs are easier to read than a wall of text.
  • Use clear, simple language. Be specific.
  • Add links for any online or software resources.
  • Be aware of the promotional content guidelines.
    • Commercial content is okay as long as it is on topic.
    • However, make any affiliations to that content known.
  • Before saving, reread your post (preferably out loud) and rewrite anything that sounds awkward.
  • Make sure your title accurately describes what your post is about.
  • Add some tags to make your post easier to find. (Check to see if a tag already exists before creating your own)

Feel free to comment or suggest edits.

Should we also change the default license? If we eventually end up with some kind of community user for maintenance purposes as suggested here we might want to suggest a more open license.

Description:

A community wiki for language enthusiasts.

Help text:

  • Provide a short description of each resource you post
  • Add a language tag to your post (where appropriate)
  • If you are listing multiple kinds of resources, break them up using markdown formatting so categories are easy to distinguish

Help text will need more but see comment above.

Also please suggest edits and I will incorporate.
