Switzerland is an interesting case on an almost perfect federation with regards to language handling throughout the country, only that each one is "alone" in a given region. However, it is not really the type of cases I am looking for, @#53003. I am interested in a given region with two languages "co... (more) |

@Peter Taylor oh, thanks. No, I didn't mean to write anything between _those_ and _in_. I think (you can correct me, of course) that _to be in X_ means to interested in something: _I am in politics_, _I am in sports_. (more) |

I don't like the fact that the translation is given into another language (including English). The nice part in SE was to help each other to find interesting synonyms and ways to express things more succinctly. With each one talking their own language, the purpose is lost. (more) |

@Moshi well I wouldn't call English -> English a translation, but this is just a terminology matter :D (more) |

Thanks for refloating this, Moshi! In Spanish.SE we were translating from English, normally. Since here in Codidact we are in an English site and no other language is 'expected' to be known, my idea was to make the challenge focus on shrinking the text. (more) |

Mmmm very oxymoronic, yes :) I chewed a lot on this and thought that 'punt de pas' can also work well. (more) |

@Moshi sure, see [This is translation-golf! The translation with the least number of characters wins!](https://spanish.meta.stackexchange.com/q/2591/1674) in Spanish.SE. (more) |

Thanks a lot for the explanation. 'Punt d'inflexió' would definitely read somehow more abstract and may be difficult to relate to a think as specific as a GPS track. I like better _waypoint_, as you recommend. What about 'fita' also? ('fita' is a _milestone_) (more) |

I don't think there is a specific need for them right now. My experience in Spanish.SE suggests that they can be helpful to cover small and specific answers to broad questions (_what is the usage of this word?_ and people describing one for a country), but I do't think we are there yet. Articles shou... (more) |

The main point here is the usage of _"escaparan"_. If they said "escaparon", then it would be clearly _porque_ because the sentence would be explaining _why_ the authorities felt "estafadas". (more) |

I like the idea. Also, the language tags could appear first on the list of tags, instead of interleaved (I guess the sorting now is based on the number of questions using each tag). This way it is easier to see the language they are talking about with a glimpse. (more) |

Regarding the first paragraph: oh, I used a 'reserved' word :) Yes, with categories I meant special top tags. I wasn't aware of the meaning of 'categories' in Codidact context (more) |
